THERAPY, COACHING & WHOLE-PERSON HEALTH

AN INTEGRATIVE APPROACH THAT UTILISES:

Emily Mitchell Therapy summary

WORKING WITH Emily

I am a London and Cotswolds based, registered Integrative Psychotherapist and Occupational Therapist with over fifteen years of clinical experience across the NHS, Priory Group and private practice.

I work with young adults and adults who often appear capable, successful and are high functioning, yet internally feel stuck in repeating patterns they struggle to think or work their way out of alone. Many are not in crisis but recognise they are not where they want to be. People who have insight, ambition and self-awareness, yet still struggle to create lasting change and reach their potential.

My approach is integrative and relational, drawing on psychodynamic, somatic, parts-based and evidence-based cognitive approaches as the work requires. What I bring specifically is the capacity to stay with you in the disorientating phase between recognising that the old frame no longer fits and finding what comes next. That phase is uncomfortable and most therapy moves past it too quickly. I have learned not to.

Sessions are weekly, in person in Broadway, Worcestershire and online (national and international). I also offer occasional group work and consultancy to organisations.

Why COME TO THERAPY?

People come to me for a range of reasons. Some are in acute distress. Many are not. They are functioning, often at a high level, and have noticed that something underneath is not working. Some have tried therapy before and want something that goes deeper.

Common reasons people arrive:

  • Anxiety, panic, or persistent low mood that has not responded to earlier work

  • Difficulties with food, body image, or addictive patterns

  • Relationship struggles, breakups, or family conflict

  • Grief, loss, trauma, or major life transitions

  • The long aftermath of a difficult childhood

  • Burnout or chronic exhaustion connected to over-functioning and perfectionism

  • Identity questions, career inflection points, the feeling of being stuck without quite knowing why

  • ADHD, in young adults and in adults who were not diagnosed as children

  • A sense that something is wrong but not yet legible

I work with adults (16+), in person in Broadway, Worcestershire- UK or online across the UK and internationally.
