Service Description

WHAT IS AN INTENSIVE THERAPY SESSION: A psychologically informed space for clarity, direction and meaningful change There are times when weekly therapy feels too fragmented, and times when talking things through alone no longer brings clarity. You may be functioning well on the outside, yet internally feel stuck- caught in cycles of anxiety, overthinking, indecision or quiet dissatisfaction. Private intensives offer a contained, reflective space to pause, take stock, and reset direction. These sessions draw on a biopsychosocial framework, integrating psychological insight, nervous-system awareness, values-based work and practical goal development. Rather than focusing on trauma processing, intensives are designed for people who are psychologically stable but at a crossroads- individuals who want to understand what is maintaining current patterns and take responsibility for meaningful change. Working together over an extended period allows time to slow down, develop a shared formulation, and move from insight into action. Many people find that uninterrupted space helps them see patterns more clearly, reconnect with what matters, and leave with a stronger sense of agency and direction. WHAT AN INTENSIVE INVOLVES: Each intensive is tailored to the individual, but typically includes: • Settling and grounding to support regulation and focus • Collaborative exploration of current difficulties using a biopsychosocial lens • Clarifying values, goals and areas of responsibility • Identifying psychological, behavioural and lifestyle patterns that maintain difficulty • Developing practical, realistic next steps to support change and integration Breaks are built in, and the pace is thoughtful rather than rushed. WHO ARE INTENSIVES FOR? Intensives are particularly suited to people who: • Feel stuck despite insight or previous therapy • Are navigating life, career or relationship transitions • Experience anxiety or overthinking without acute crisis • Want focused psychological input rather than ongoing weekly sessions • Are ready to engage actively with change They are not intended for acute mental health crises or for deep trauma-processing work, which usually requires longer-term relational therapy.
